About Stichting OpenCharities Foundation

Stichting OpenCharities Foundation was incorporated on 27 May 2026 and has its seat in Haarlem. Its statutory objective is to raise funds for social initiatives and charitable causes that serve the public interest, and to spend and disburse those funds in a transparent and publicly accountable way. The foundation has no profit motive.

The board decides independently, on its own selection criteria, which initiatives the foundation supports. The first is Ton in 't Veen's training centre for dementia care in Swakopmund, Namibia. That project is run by a company registered in Namibia, so the foundation raises for it here and the board decides how what comes in is spent.
